Create Your Challenge: ride, run, or walk a route of your choice, hike, swim, paddleboard, or do your own thing! The possibilities are limitless! It’s your Challenge and your way to raise funds to support Best Buddies’ mission of inclusion for all!
The DIY Challenge offers you, or your team, the flexibility of designing your own event. You pick the date, you pick the time, you pick the activity. It’s a great, worry-free way to get your friends and family involved, too! Our Challenge staff is always available to provide fundraising tools, tips on hosting your own event, and our DIY toolkit that includes fun Best Buddies Challenge swag for you and your team.

Funds raised through the Best Buddies Challenge: Hearst Castle, presented by Pepsi-Cola benefit Best Buddies International, the world’s largest organization dedicated to ending the social, physical and economic isolation of the 200 million people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Our programs empower the special abilities of people with IDD by helping them form meaningful friendships with their peers, secure successful jobs, live independently, improve public speaking, self-advocacy and communication skills, and feel valued by society.
The IDD community that Best Buddies serves includes, but is not limited to, people with Down syndrome, autism, Fragile X syndrome, Williams syndrome, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury and other undiagnosed disabilities.
