Best Buddies Breakaway Camp: Malibu offers a select group of cyclists a world-class, five-day riding experience through the scenic canyon roads and rock-studded hillsides of the Santa Monica Mountains overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Cyclists will pedal from coast to valley through remote, twisting and winding canyon roads past cliffside Malibu mansions and acres of forest. Base camped at the world-renowned Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village, cyclists will end each ride focused on recovery with daily massages and gourmet meals handcrafted by sports nutrition experts.

The Best Buddies Breakaway Camp: Malibu offers a custom-designed program for each individual cyclist. Upon your registration, staff will work with you to customize your experience to maximize the impact of the Camp. Experienced cyclists and weekend warriors alike will learn from various industry professionals including sports nutritionists, exercise physiologists, mechanics, and personal trainers. The Camp aims to provide participants with a holistic approach to training, with special attention given to riding more efficiently, proper rider nutrition, post-training recovery, and leaving with the foundations for a sustainably healthy lifestyle. The Camp’s goal is to use Tour de France wisdom to craft a healthy program applicable to the mature amateur athlete.

The fabled roads of Malibu – Latigo, Tuna Canyon, Mulholland – are the perfect setting for participants to work with a coach to improve climbing, descending, and cornering techniques to build confidence on mountainous terrain. Throughout the Camp, we will host discussions on topics including finding ideal training methods and exploring the recovery and nutrition habits of high-endurance professional athletes with coaches and fitness experts. And yes, there will be some tall tales from the pro peloton.
