OUR 2021 EVENTS
The Best Buddies Challenge plans to host options for both in-person and DIY events in 2021. The Best Buddies Challenge: Hyannis Port live event is scheduled for October 2, 2021 and the Best Buddies Challenge: Hearst Castle live event is scheduled for September 11, 2021. Our in-person events will be limited to a maximum capacity of 50% to our prior years. The Best Buddies Challenge will monitor and follow all local, state, and CDC guidelines as they pertain to hosting events next year.
While we can’t predict the future, we look forward to coming back together and celebrating inclusion! In addition to our in-person event, the Best Buddies Challenge team will be fully supporting the DIY Challenge again in 2021. We’re excited to build off the success of the DIY Challenge in 2020 and assist our participants so they can build bigger and more creative events in 2021!
We envision our limited-capacity in-person Challenge to have the standard minimum fundraising commitment as we have in the past. Currently, we’re opening registration without that requirement until we’re ready to officially launch the in-person Best Buddies Challenge.
We’re encouraging our Best Buddies Challenge community to register early for the 2021 Best Buddies Challenge. We are currently offering one Standard Event rate until we have approval from local and state agencies to pursue an in-person event. All participants will register at our Standard Rate and then can choose, when the time comes, to participate in our in-person event or our DIY Challenge. Until then, we need your support to show that inclusion is never canceled.
Thank you for your continued support of Best Buddies. You’re helping to create a more inclusive world for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities!

WHY WE RIDE
Funds raised through the Best Buddies Challenge: Hyannis Port, presented by Pepsi-Cola and Shaw’s and Star Market Foundation benefit Best Buddies International, the world’s largest organization dedicated to ending the social, physical and economic isolation of the 200 million people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Our programs empower the special abilities of people with IDD by helping them form meaningful friendships with their peers, secure successful jobs, live independently, improve public speaking, self-advocacy and communication skills, and feel valued by society.
The IDD community that Best Buddies serves includes, but is not limited to, people with Down syndrome, autism, Fragile X syndrome, Williams syndrome, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury and other undiagnosed disabilities.
