PACKING LIST
Below is our suggested packing list for event attendees.
- Extra food and fluids. A wide variety of drinks and nutrition are available at all Rest Stops. However, if you have favorite energy gels, bars, or sports drink, please bring them!
- Sunscreen
- Cell phone
- Cash and credit cards
- Drivers license or other form of identification
- Sunglasses
- Foul-weather gear in case of rain
- Windbreaker / cold weather shell
- Comfortable shoes
- Change of clothes for the post-Challenge celebration! The post-Challenge celebration dress is casual. Feel free to wear whatever makes you feel comfortable.
- Toiletries including soap and shampoo for your post-Challenge shower. We will have a towel valet, or bring your own if you prefer.
- Shower towel
- Any prescription medication
If you are cycling, please add the following:
- Bicycle helmet. Helmets are mandatory to participate in the Challenge. The Challenge does not provide helmets.
- Two water bottles
- Cycling appropriate clothes
– Padded cycling shorts or bibs
– Cycling jersey. All participants will receive a Best Buddies Challenge jersey at check-in!
– Rain jacket, windbreaker, or other cold shell
– Leg/knee/arm warmers
– Cycling socks
– Cycling shoes
– Cycling gloves - Repair equipment. While we will provide mechanical support at all start lines, rest stops, and along the course, we recommend all riders carry the basic equipment needed for minor repairs.
– spare tube
– portable bike pump or CO2
– tire levers
– multi-tool, patch kit, etc. - Red rear-blinker light
*Please note that the Challenge Staff will transport a small bag (ex. backpack or small luggage bag) from your start line and items discarded at rest stops (ex. jackets, arm warmers, etc) to the Finish Line for you. Please label and keep track of what you ask us to transport and in return, we will do our best to ensure you are reunited with your items! Luggage labels will be given out at event check-in. You can pick up your luggage and/or rest stop items at the Luggage Tent at the Finish Line.
